We’re excited and honored to be selected the #8 small hotel in the United States and the #1 small hotel in Hawaii. Entering our 10th year, we can think of no finer recognition. We know that we could not have done it without the many gracious guests that took a few minutes of their time and shared a review about us.

From our perspective:

• We strive to provide some of the freshest, healthiest, and most beautifully presented breakfasts in Hawaii.
• We focus on making our guest rooms comfortable with the cleanliness of our rooms, the quality of our room amenities, and providing a great night’s sleep.
• We make hospitality our business. Along with Rusty Jr., our somewhat famous refrigerator, we want you to have more than need to enjoy your stay.
• We help our guests plan their stay and discover why we are such a great location for seeing the southern half of Hawaii Island.

From our guest’s perspective, when we do all of these things well, they go the extra mile and thank us with an outstanding review.

We began Kalaekilohana with the idea that we would build our business slowly by word of mouth. We still adhere to that today. In the electronic age, that now includes reviews, and we understand and appreciate the value our guests give back to us when they share their experience with the world.
